Fruit of the Loom
Commited to reducing packaging, recycling waste and using more recycled materials. Over the last few years at Fruit of the Loom Europe, we have completely overhauled our approach to packaging. Not only in terms of the packaging we use when we ship our own garments, but we also have a strict policy on the types of packaging materials we now accept coming into our facilities. Our objective has been to dramatically reduce the paper and plastic packaging we use, and to ensure that the packaging we do use is made from the most sustainable materials available. |
Reduce, reuse, recycle. It's a policy to live by. Througout our manufacturing plant in Morocco, re-usable containers are in operation wherever it is practical. Since 2020, we eradicated carton liners and polybag packaging from our garment cartons, and we are working towards the minimisation and future elimination of plastic bags and stretch films. Recently we have converted to plastic made from at least 60% recycled post-consumer waste. We have also removed the use of baler bags from our own facilities, and all sourced suppliers have been instructed to eliminate this type of packaging too. With this move we saved 12.5 tons of plastic in 2022 |
Mineral-free ink and a new recycled materials logo All our cartons and packaging will now feature our new recycled materials logo. And we have just made the switch to mineral-free ink for all our carton printing. |
As packaging technology develops further into the future, we are commited to being among the first to embrace the changes that make even more of a positive difference, and we will continue to implement innovative solutions across our entire packaging process. |
